INSURANCE DISPUTES

There are good insurance companies in the world, but many are not. You pay a monthly premium for protection, and you expect them to make good on their promises after you’ve had a loss. However, too often, this expectation is not met.

Insurance companies are in business to make money, and you are not their top priority. The bottom line of their company is what matters most to them. It’s the job of an insurance adjuster to protect his company, and that sometimes comes in the form of denying or undervaluing claims and even threatening policyholders. Insurance companies do not want you to contact a lawyer because they realize that a lawyer will try and force them to pay you the full value of your insurance claim.

The Law Offices of Flint, Crawford & Cogburn has over 75 combined years of experience handling insurance disputes and bad faith insurance claims for people in the Ark-La-Tex region of northeast Texas, southwest Arkansas, northwest Louisiana, and parts of Oklahoma. We help people fight insurance companies that fail to live up to their obligations. When someone enters our doors with complaints about how an insurance company will not honor their claims, we are prepared to fight for them with all we’ve got. We handle cases of:

 Denied life insurance claims
 Denied property damage claims
 Denied disability benefits
 Denied fire claims
 Denied healthcare claims

In some cases, a court may award attorney fees in addition to your damage claim. In cases of insurance bad faith, some jurisdictions permit additional damages for insurance company abuse to punish the insurance company and stop them from engaging in similar practices in the future.

Our insurance dispute attorneys are more than prepared to get you the respect and restitution you deserve when you file a claim. These are some of the most common types of insurance claim denials we see our clients experience, and here's what we can do to fight back:

DENIED LIFE INSURANCE CLAIMS

As we stated, insurance companies are in the business of protecting themselves. Therefore, the examiners may try to find a reason to deny a claim. One common thing they do is contest the claim if a person dies within the first two years that the policy became effective. The examiner may try to look back over the original application for mistakes or misrepresentation. He or she may try to contest it on those grounds. Other reasons an insurance company may deny life insurance claims are reasons such as premium nonpayment, policy exclusions, beneficiary changes, and the like. Our insurance dispute attorneys are here to combat those excuses and have your denial reversed to an approval.

DENIED PROPERTY DAMAGE CLAIMS

Property damage claims can also receive a denial for a variety of reasons. Late filing is a common reason for denial of property damage claims. Insufficient documentation is another reason. The insurance company may also try to place part of the blame on you by saying that you didn't make a good enough effort to prevent the incident from occurring. They may try to deny your claim because of roofing materials, as well. In some cases, the examiner may attempt to deny your claim because he or she feels as though it's "suspicious." Our attorneys love to fight for clients who are wrongfully denied for those reasons. We have full confidence that we can turn your property damage claim around if you have received a rejection.

DENIED DISABILITY BENEFITS AND HEALTHCARE CLAIMS

We understand that when you're sick or injured, you need the benefits you requested from your insurance provider. Unfortunately, sometimes the insurance companies don't understand, and they turn down applicants at the most inopportune times. They may try to deny your disability benefits or healthcare claims because of insufficient documentation, or they'll say that the doctor's notes aren't detailed enough. They may say that the policy doesn't cover your particular ailment. That's why you need to have experts in the field fighting for your right to collect those benefits. Our attorneys have been in business for several decades and have seen every trick that insurance companies try to pull.

DENIED FIRE CLAIMS

As we mentioned, the examiner's job is to find reasons not to pay a claim. Such a person will investigate fire claims and try to find fault with you to get out of paying the claim. You may have difficulty if the examiner tries to say that the fire occurred because of unpermitted electrical work. You will have a hard time collecting benefits if he or she implies that illegal activity had something to do with the fire, as well. Other possible reasons for claim denial include improper documentation, inadequate coverage, and suspected fraud.

Don't stress if you receive a denial for any of the above insurance cases. We pride ourselves on our ability to convince insurance companies to see things our way. When we can't get them to see things our way, then we move on to convincing a judge to do so. Insurance disputes are our priority, so you've come to the right place.
